HISTORY AND CULTURE
Elmwood Cemetery Association welcomes people of all faiths, creeds, races and religions. For over one hundred years Elmwood has enjoyed the richness of New Brunswick’s diverse people and culture.
-
PEACEFUL AND SERENE
Elmwood Cemetery was established in 1868. Elmwood’s founders had a vision to create a beautiful and tranquil cemetery, a natural retreat. To this day, all of Elmwood’s lanes and paths are lined with evergreens and flowering trees native to New Jersey.
Elmwood is an active cemetery with over 10,000 graves and creation graves available.
-
INTEGRITY AND CHARACTER
Elmwood Cemetery Association operates under the guidelines of New Jersey State Law and The New Jersey Cemetery Board. A Maintenance and Preservation Fund was established in 1923 guaranteeing that graves and lots would be tended for future generations.
Since then, Elmwood Cemetery Association has continued to exceed state funding requirements out of a commitment to preserve the integrity and character envisioned by its founders.
